Luis M. Amador, LMSW

Luis Amador is the Chief Content Officer at BFLF and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW, 2019). Born in Puerto Rico to two Puerto Rican parents, Luis brings a deep sense of cultural pride, Spanish fluency, and lived experience into the heart of BFLF’s bilingual and emotionally grounded storytelling. His journey into toddler media began after becoming a father and reconnecting with the joy, curiosity, and emotional depth of childhood programming.

Luis earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Iona University and his Master of Social Work from Simmons University. He began his career at the YMCA, where he spent nearly a decade developing and leading youth and family programs. He later served as a program director and counselor for grassroots organizations, creating and running initiatives that supported at-risk youth in underserved communities.

As Head Writer, Luis leads the show’s creative direction and scriptwriting, infusing each episode with purpose, humor, and heart. His work is driven by a vision to help families grow stronger together—emotionally, physically, and mentally—through joy, trust, connection, and culturally intentional storytelling.

Michael J. Rodriguez, LCSW​

Chief Operations Officer (COO)

 Michael Rodriguez is the Chief Operations Officer at BFLF and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, 2018) with a deep commitment to equity, creativity, and children’s emotional wellness. American-born and proudly Ecuadorian, Michael draws from his bicultural identity to champion inclusive, bilingual social-emotional learning (SEL) programming that reflects the diverse communities BFLF serves.

He earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Iona University and holds a Master’s Degree from Columbia University. Michael’s professional background spans school counseling, family therapy, inpatient mental health care, and outreach with justice-involved and unhoused populations.
 
As a first-generation college graduate, Michael brings a lived understanding of resilience and access, shaping both his clinical approach and leadership style. His personal connection to storytelling—rooted in his own childhood experiences—fuels his passion for creating emotionally rich, culturally resonant content for children. At BFLF, he blends clinical expertise with creative strategy to develop meaningful programming that meets children where they are, emotionally and linguistically.
 
Michael’s leadership is key to advancing BFLF’s mission and ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to tools that support their emotional growth.

Christopher D. Rodriguez, LMSW

Chief Chief Inclusive Officer (CIO)

Christopher Rodriguez is the Chief Inclusion Officer at BFLF and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW, 2021). Ecuadorian and proud, he directs DEI efforts, builds inclusive language and representation into content, and leads outreach partnerships that connect BFLF’s mission with diverse communities.With eight years of experience working with children and families, Christopher blends clinical expertise with a heartfelt passion for supporting children’s emotional wellness.

He earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Iona University and his Master of Social Work from Fordham University. Christopher’s natural connection with kids inspired him to explore their inner worlds—their feelings, fears, and needs—and to create emotionally safe spaces where children and families feel seen, heard, and empowered.

As a therapist and creative collaborator on Big Feelings, Little Friends, Christopher combines therapeutic tools with playful storytelling to help kids and families navigate emotional ups and downs together, fostering resilience and confidence.
